Hopefully we will not need it but it's there if we do...

We also have set up a public blog so anyone can post pics or comments by email or from your phone.

Scallon Controls Hurricane IKE Advisory #2

The Scallon building is intact without any serious damage, just a little wet carpet and a few drips from the ceiling.  However; the entire Golden Triangle is without power, no city services, no hospitals etc. 100% of all Entergy customers are without power.  So, until basic services and utilities are restored, Scallon will remain closed.  This could be 1 week or more.  Cell phone service is down in the Golden Triangle but my
home phone is working.  For furture updates, contact your manager on their cell phone or call me at home, 409-892-8798.

I heard that Jefferson & Orange counties plan to not allow anyone to return to the area, but I have not details on this.

Stay safe,
Robert

TXDOT information on Highways and Bridges

September 2nd, 2008

SOUTHEAST TEXAS EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

Contact Person - Marc Sheperd TXDOT

With many people wanting to know the current road closures in the Beaumont District, here is an update on all highways.

ALL highways are OPEN

ALL bridges are OPEN

All eastbound construction-related lane closures have been suspended until further notice to allow eastbound East Texas/Louisiana evacuees to return without experiencing lane closures.

Scallon Business Operations Advisory #2

We held our second management team conference call on Tuesday, Sept. 2nd @ 9:00 am and confirmed our decision to resume business operations on Wednesday morning, Sept.3rd @ 7:30 am.  All employees who are available to work should report to work on Wednesday.  However, if you have younger children and your daycare is closed, or if your school age children cannot attend school due to school closures, we understand.  Also, if your evacuation destination is several hundred miles from Beaumont or if the traffic on the return trip is very slow moving, we understand.  Please keep your manager apprised of your situation.

Our expectation is for all employees to return to work by 7:30 am on Thursday, Sept. 4th.

Locally all essential services are re-starting today, including hospitals, grocery stores and gas stations.

Safe travels,

Robert

There is a rumor that all of Orange County is under a boil water notice. That is false information. This verification has been confirmed the Orange County E.O.C.

ONLY Orange County Water District #1 (Vidor) is urging customers to boil their water until further notice.

Jerald L. Ziller
Deputy Fire Chief, EMC
City of Orange, Texas

The City of Orange is NOT under a water boil order! This includes the newly annexed areas within the city limits.
